Privacy policy for HistoryGuessr

HistoryGuessr has no accounts and you send us nothing. There is no server of ours behind the app. Your scores, settings and match history live only on your own device. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.
1.Who we are
HistoryGuessr is developed and published by AKG Interactive, an independent game studio. For any question about this policy, write to support@akginteractive.com.
2.Personal data we collect
None. The app sends us no name, email, phone number, location or advertising identifier (IDFA).
3.Data stored on your device
Your scores, streaks and statistics, your settings, the nickname you choose and your duel rank, a record of your last 20 matches and a cache of photographs you have seen stay on your phone. Deleting the app removes all of it; you can also clear it in Settings → Reset statistics.
4.Photographs from Wikimedia Commons
The historical images are loaded from Wikimedia Commons. While a photo downloads, your IP address reaches Wikimedia's servers, as with any internet request. No name or app identifier is sent. The Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy applies.
5.Maps
On iPhone the map is Apple MapKit, which talks to Apple's servers to draw map tiles. The app never asks for your location and does not know where you are.
6.Live duels and challenge links
Live 1v1 duels on iPhone use Apple Game Center for matchmaking; your Game Center nickname is visible to your opponent. A challenge link carries the match inside the part after the # sign, which browsers never send to our server. The link is encoded, not encrypted, and contains nothing personal.
7.The browser version
The browser version at akginteractive.com/oyna/ uses no accounts and no cookies. For a live duel in the browser, the two players' moves are relayed through a small room service on akginteractive.com. It carries only the nickname you choose and your guesses, and every room file is deleted 30 minutes after it is created. Like any website, our server sees your IP address while delivering pages.
8.Notifications
If you allow them, the app schedules a daily reminder on your phone itself. These are local notifications; no server of ours sends them.
9.Children
Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.
10.Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK give you the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because we hold no record of you on any server of ours, there is nothing to access or delete on our side. Data kept by Google or Apple can be managed in your Google or Apple account.
11.Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date before the change takes effect.
